Leaders from across the Synod of the Heartland met in Sioux City, Iowa on February 3 and 4, 2023 to talk about the future plans for the Synod. Peace Reformed Church hosted the two day event that included lots of discussion, lots of ideas and lots of prayer.
“This retreat has been a fantastic journey of learning, training and empowering leadership in the Synod of the Heartland,” said Fabio Sosa, the new Mission Advancement Director for the Synod. “Two key words have been hope and passion. There is no doubt that the executive leaders of these Classes are faithfully walking into a new day, with not only great challenges, but also with tremendous hope. The vision has begun to take shape, knowing that we will step out in faith as God directs the process.”
There were times of worship and a special time of team building, led by Dave Bartlett. The group pulled together to tackle the challenges that are ahead and put together positive plans for the future.
“Our New Day has begun….executive leaders from our various regions gathered together to consider the exciting opportunity that God is creating …a New Way within this New Day,” said Dale Assink, the new Executive Strategist for the Synod.
We look forward to doing ministry together across the Synod. The outreach has been incredible as we have expanded outside our normal territory to embrace many ministries that are from Latin and South America.
